To complement its' well established range of demister products, KnitMesh will be showing vane packs for the first time at ACHEMA. Other key products at the exhibition will include the company's unique plate separator for primary immiscible dispersions; filters; column packings; and flame arrestors.

The vane pack's parallel, chevron construction relies on the principles of droplet inertia, centrifugal force, impingement and gravity and has been specifically developed to handle high volume gas flow and also reduce fouling. Liquid-laden vapour is forced to change direction several times - which imparts a centrifugal force on to the stream and throws heavier liquid droplets against the wetted walls of the vanes where they are incorporated in to the sheet flow of the liquid. Agitation and surface contact also cause coalescence of small particles within the vanes.

The vane pack launch coincides with the development of new pre-conditioner mesh pads which have been optimised for use with high capacity separators such as the vane packs or swirl decks.

Innovative Plate Separator
KnitMesh has also recently introduced an innovative new plate separator designed for the separation of primary immiscible liquid dispersions. It is ideal for applications where an improvement in the performance of conventional gravity separators is needed and coalescer packings may be unsuitable due to fouling problems from a high concentration of solids or waxy compounds in the feed; or when minimum pressure drop is required.

Modular in construction, the separators are perfect for retro-fitting to existing horizontal gravity settlers to improve separation performance and increase flow rates.
