Involved In Acquisition
KnitMesh Ltd announced in March
2002 that it had acquired Britnit Ltd the Essex, UK based manufacturer
of knitted mesh filtration and cleaning materials. KnitMesh has a similar
background to Britnit and the acquisition has proved to be an excellent
fit within the existing business. Both KnitMesh and Britnit have nearly
60 years combined experience in the manufacture of knitted wire products.
Britnit supply high quality cleaning products, primarily pot scourers
to the retail and wholesale hardware markets.
Since March 2002 work has been ongoing to integrate the two businesses
which has led to the closure of the Britnit office and manufacturing
facility in Basildon, Essex. Production has now been successfully and
seamlessly transferred to the KnitMesh factory at Greenfield in North
Wales.
